The Expectant Mother’s Quick Guide To Pregnancy
If you have just taken a pregnancy test that has confirmed that you are to have a baby in the next nine months or so, you probably have a hundred questions about what it is going to be like, whether you’ll enjoy pregnancy and how you can make the most of your time with child. However, I have a little bit of bad news for you. No matter how many pregnant women or mothers you speak to when asking what pregnancy is like, I guarantee that you won’t get two answers that are the same.
Every woman’s experience of pregnancy is different. Some love it; some hate it and can’t wait until the baby’s born. Some find that they’re full of energy throughout the pregnancy but then others feel lethargic and often nauseous throughout. In truth, no woman ever knows how she will feel until the pregnancy actually gets underway. However, there are things you can do to try and promote a feeling of well being throughout your pregnancy.
Having A Healthy Pregnancy
The first thing is to maintain a healthy diet in order to encourage a healthy pregnancy. You’ll find that many of the women that feel lethargic eat a lot of junk food, which of course gives them no energy at all. Aside from which, your baby will not be getting the nutrients that he or she needs from such food and so will take them directly from you. Your baby will obviously be growing and developing week by week so he or she needs vitamins, minerals, energy and other nutrients to be able to do that. Many babies will just take what they need so it’s up to you to provide it for them!
If you go full term on your pregnancy then it will last 40 weeks, during which there are three trimesters. Each trimester is distinctly different in several ways, but none more so than the growth of your baby. Your baby will develop and grow gradually over the course of the 40 weeks. A good week-by-week guide will allow you to see just how much your baby will develop every week.
Finally, you have something to look forward to! A baby can be a lot of hard work when it’s born and no pregnancy is ever completely easy, but you should use the pregnancy to rest up and relax. Being pregnant may be difficult but it will be easier than the few months after you’ve given birth. Prioritise what needs to be done, sort your own health out and the rest will just all fit into place!
